How is the book personalised?

Their name is on the cover and all through the story. Their face, drawn from one photo or from your words, is in every picture. And the job they dream of gets the biggest pages in the book, with their name lettered on the kit.

What’s the story?

One day they’ll be big. Big enough to reach the biscuit tin, and big enough to choose. First they try the job they’ve always wanted. Then a vet, a chef, a pilot, an astronaut and plenty more, until the very last page, where the grown-up giving the book has the final word.

The first read is mostly pointing.

That’s me. That’s my hat. That’s my name on it. Then they want to know which job comes next, and whether a dragon trainer is a real job. (Not yet.)

Not just the name.

Most personalised books swap a name in and call it done. This one is built around the job they choose, so a zookeeper’s book and a firefighter’s book are different books.

Who is Tandem?
We’re a small team of parents, doctors and child psychologists who got tired of apps built to keep children quiet. Tandem makes stories you and your child make together. Now we print them, bind them and post them, with their name on the cover.
How long does it take?
About four minutes of yours. Then a few minutes of ours while the pages are drawn, and you can read each one as it lands. Printing and posting takes a few more days.
What if they want to be something unusual?
Type it in. Most dreams make a book, from YouTuber to unicorn groomer. If it’s one we can’t write, we’ll say so straight away and you can pick another.
What if it arrives and it’s not right?
Tell us. A real person reads every message, and if the book is not right we put it right or give you your money back.
